NICE FRANCE
_______________________________________________________

Patrick - age 16
It was great fun to live with a traditional French family. The location was ideal, not in the heart of the city, but only a short trip to the heart of the action. My various international roomates were very interesting, and couldn't have been nicer.

I was extremely impressed by the instructors' teaching ability. My French improved tremendouslyinside the classroom and outside as well. Thanks for the best summer of my life!!!!

The atmosphere at the school was so positive. All the counselors were enthusiastic, energetic, and interesting. The teachers mirrored their positive attitudes. The activities were all fun, light-hearted things, that were engaging and helped with our French skills at the same time.

Wonderful program. It was well worth the money.

A brief description of my experience is impossible! I had one of the best summers I've ever had in just the three weeks that I spent in Nice. The friends you make (and keep), the food, the sites, the language, the culture, your host family, everything about it was more than satisfying. It was my first 'camp' experience and I couldn't have asked for a better time. You really need to get out there and try it to fully understand what I mean. And of course, after a week or so you begin to pick up the language surprisingly easily. I personally learnt more from just speaking with my roommate, host mom as well as walking around Nice, listening, reading signs, going to cafes. And when undecided teens who read through these descriptions constantly find to words 'just go for it' as I did, it's honestly the truth. Just go for it! It's absolutely worth it and you'll make memories that will stay with you for a long time.

The staff were brilliant, especially if you're not shy and joke around with them. I have some great memories with some of the staff and the programs were always fun. You do learn some things but the real learning is outside.

My experience was amazing. I had so much fun and i would definitely go back right now if I had the chance. I really improved my French not only in school but outside of school and communicating with students that didn't speak english. I made lots of new friends from many different places. Its a really good experience meeting people from other countries. Its interesting learning what they think about the USA and how they live their lives and what they like to do for fun.

My first teacher was OK and my second teacher I only had for a week but was even better and i learned a lot that week. The school location was good and the atmosphere was good also. I would really encourage students to go on this program. At first I didnt think i would be able to stay for three weeks by myself in a place that i had never been before but after the first couple of days i got into the routine and forgot about any initial lack of confidence. You make new friends and all of the activities they have planned for you keep you distracted.

My teacher was good - I should have tried to learn a little more French, but the classes were interesting and went by quickly and .... I kept telling myself that I was studying in NICE and I just think the whole experience is so worth it, and this organization is a great one to do it through!!!!!!! It may not be what you expect at first - BUT give it about 3-4 days and everything will come around, be awesome, you'll never want to go home!!! I plan to go back to this same program for 4 weeks next year!

My three weeks in Nice was incredible! I had chosen this program with the hope that I would be more prepared for the upcoming year of French, but I ended up getting so much more. Not only did I learn MORE French than I had anticipated, I was able to apply what I learned in class by interacting with some of the locals (les Nicois!) also. The classes were challenging, but a lot of fun, and we had plenty of free time in the afternoon to go to the beach, shopping, or sightseeing after classes had ended for the day.

The activities planned for us were great! They are so varied from day to day that there is always something for us to do. My favorite activites were going to the outdoor cinema to watch a movie, going to the discotheques, and going to other nearby cities (Antibes, Cannes).

Be sure to try everything at least once and take advantage of the fact that you are in an unfamiliar environment by stepping a little bit outside of your comfort zone. Be sure to take a lot of pictures too because you'll definitely want to look back and remember everything about your trip!
